More about fine wines:
My first shipment from Wine Celler’s Direct arrived this week. I had requested all red wines for the first shipment as this is my personal favorite.
I received four bottles of Wine Lovers Reds Fine Wines. The first two bottles came from Eye of the Needle, a small family owned winery located in Woodville, Washington.
The information sheet introduced the winery along with the composition of the hand-crafted wine. The wine contains 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. As I am a novice at wine, I decided to look into the specifics of the wine varieties.
Sangiovese is a variety of black wine grape originating in Italy. This is most widely planted variety in Italy. Many of the famous Fine Wines of Italy begin with the Sangiovese grape. Merlot is a variety of black wine grape originally from the Bordeaux region of France.
The second pair of wine bottles are from The El Bailarin winery in Spain. This wine is labelled as a 2015 Garnacha. It is interesting to note that Spain is the third largest wine producer in the world. This wine I received is described as a vibrant wine with ripe and riche strawberry, violet and pepper aromas. I can’t wait to try it.
I had initially chosen to receive only red wine for my monthly selections. After several shipments, I decided to vary the order and receive two red wines and two white wines.
The first selection of white wines I received was Sauvignon Blanc from Tre Creste winery in Italy. As usual, I received a great information sheet.
I paired this white wine with a shrimp dish and it was incredible. I had not previously enjoyed white wine as much as red. Now I can see how having fines wines is truly different from the variety that you get at the store.
